At CES 2017, a Glimpse of Tech Destined to Transform Fashion
From self-driving cars to artificial intelligence, CES 2017 offered not only a vision of the future, but solutions to many of the challenges facing the fashion business.
OUR VIEW: With its usual collection of geek inspired flashing dresses and wearables, this years CES was notable not so much for the actual innovations it presented for the retail landscape, much of which has already been extensively covered, but for the collaborations that are beginning to form as the consumer landscape changes. For example, if self-driving cars reach their tipping point as many now predict, what opportunities exist to engage the consumer in the time they previously dedicated to driving? What will be done with huge parking lots that serve vast shopping malls when there is no longer the need to park? We believe in the benefits of such collaborative innovation and see this trend accelerating.
